Ikigai is a Japanese philosophy which draws on our inherent quest for purpose and turns it into an aesthetic of living. Made up of two words, iki, meaning “life” and kai, meaning “effect, result, worth or benefit”, Ikigai envisions a life which seamlessly leads one to their core purpose, and the contentment and fulfilment that comes with it.
